Keeta seemed to be the same size as with the 2005 litter when she had thirteen pups, so we were quite surprised that there are only six pups this time.
The trickiest part about the mating is getting the timing correct. It seems that with this litter, Keeta was actually mated a bit early, and conception of pups occured with just the third mating. Besides the low puppy count, it also follows that the pups were born on the 62nd day of gestation from the third mating, the same gestation as the first litter.
